About Us
Good tea. We love it.
We drink it in the morning, the evening, and every odd moment in between. It helps us wake up, wind down, focus, reset. At home, at work, under an open sky — tea is the every-time drink, and we’re here to help more people enjoy it.

Tea for all of life’s adventures.
Waypoint Tea Co is a Canberra-based tea company run by Finn McGrath – a long-time hospitality professional who wanted to do things a little differently. After years in craft beer, bars and restaurants, Finn discovered that great tea was often an afterthought. So he set out to change that.
Waypoint began in 2018 with a simple idea: good tea should be easy to find, brew, and enjoy – no fuss, no additives, just carefully sourced blends from high quality ingredients that honour the craft and the growers behind them.

Canberra's finest.
We sell loose-leaf tea to tea lovers across the country and supply some of Canberra’s best cafes and venues. You’ll also find us in our shopfront at Dairy Road, at local markets, and the occasional workshop or event; helping people get more out of their daily cup.

Sources
We source our tea in two ways:
- Directly from plantations, either in person or through trusted tea buyers who’ve built long-term relationships with growers; and
- Through reputable importers with deep roots in the tea industry (often longer than we’ve been alive).
Wherever it comes from, we do our best to ensure it’s been grown with care and picked with purpose.
We’re committed to moving more of our sourcing to direct trade as we grow. It’s our way of honouring the hard yakka that goes into every leaf.

Impact
We believe every business has a responsibility to tread lightly. Sustainability isn’t a marketing goal; it's built in to how we work, and comes down to the daily choices we make as a business.
Here’s how we’re working towards our sustainability goals:
- Measuring, reducing, and ultimately offsetting our carbon emissions
- Prioritising environmentally responsible sourcing practices
- Keeping our packaging choices and operations as low-impact as possible
We’re not perfect – but we’re committed to improving, always.
